"Melissa is amazing! She helped my husband and me buy our dream “forever” house under the most ridiculous circumstances and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She was initially recommended to us by a colleague who knew we wanted an old house with a barn some property. I talked to Melissa on a Friday and she lined up an afternoon of old houses for us to see that very weekend. And oh boy, did we ask her to look at some doozies that first weekend – so scary. Which was good, in a way, because we realized (1) what we were really looking for (and not looking for) in a house, and (2) Melissa was freaking awesome. It’s hard to know when you’re starting out with a broker if you’re going to mesh, but Melissa “got” us right away and has a fantastic dry sense of humor. And given the places we first looked at, that sense of humor came in really handy. Plus, she knew her stuff – we were just coming back to Maine from Boston and Melissa gave us a crash course in the market and what we could expect. She told us right away which places were overpriced or underpriced and what to look for (and be wary of!) in our search. But Melissa talked us down from the ledge over and over again and dealt with all the crazy curveballs that were thrown at them by us and by the seller. They were so knowledgeable about what our rights were under the P&S and how to get what we wanted. And I know they were doing so much behind the scenes to make our purchase happen - the words heroic effort come to mind. I don't think we would have gotten where we are today - in our dream home - with any other broker. Melissa made it all happen and we are forever grateful for the above-and-beyond service. Melissa couldn’t wait to poke through the barn and crawl through the basement with my husband, while Melissa responded quickly and calmly (with a much-needed prescription of ice cream therapy) to every panicked text and phone call we threw at her.
